Traffic chaos expected with water main repairs

PARENTS and children at Christ Church Junior School have been warned to expect traffic chaos this term.
Pendennis Road shut on October 25 and is expected to remain closed until the end of November for essential work to upgrade a water main.
It is part of a £22 million Bristol Water programme to improve water quality and ensure the security of water supply for the future.
Because there is a bend in the water main by the school exit drive, workers have to dig there and although every effort will be made to maintain some access to the school, it will at times be restricted.
Head teacher Alex Wilkinson has told parents to try to do everything possible to avoid driving to and from school and, if they have to use the car, to allow time for delays.
