NURSES from Sirona Care & Health joined the Kingswood Rotary Club to give local people the chance to have their blood pressure checked.

It’s the third time the Know Your Blood Pressure event has been held in Kingswood, and local MP Chris Skidmore also popped in.

He said: “Monitoring your blood pressure is a crucial way to prevent health complications from developing, and is an early warning sign that should not be ignored. It is great for the local community that Kingswood Rotary Club together with Sirona are getting out into areas such as Kingswood, allowing local people the chance to have a check up, and potentially save their life.”

Julie Sharma, Sirona’s business development lead, said: “We really value the opportunity to work with others such as the Rotary in our community. Although Sirona has only been providing adult community health care in South Gloucestershire since the beginning of April, we hope that this event, and many more to follow, demonstrate our commitment to local communities and our priority to work with individuals at an early stage to prevent ill health as well as providing treatment when needed.”

Sirona Care & Health is a not-for-profit social enterprise and was awarded the five-year contract to provide community health services following an intensive selection process.

It is publicly funded by the NHS and is a community interest company. Any surplus is reinvested into services.
