Washing cars for Uganda funds

The young people of Christ Church Downend joined forces with the India Youth team to put on a car wash to raise funds for Uganda mission trips. One Sunday morning in May, while everyone was in Church, the young people and their leaders washed cars as part of “Serving Sunday”. £284.42 was donated and it was shared between the Wilson family & Jonny Dobson.
The Wilson family will be spending two weeks in Kumi, Uganda, in the spring of 2018, with a charity called Mission Direct, helping with building projects and to meet with other communities to learn from each other. Carole says, “This will be an opportunity to meet with people who are less fortunate than ourselves and to really experience what matters in life. It will enable our children to help others outside of what is familiar to them and hopefully change their perspective of the world in which we live. The India Youth team have helped us to raise money even though they need to raise money themselves. They have blessed us with their time and pure hard work and we are thankful to belong to such a supportive church family. Many within the church kindly supported us by having their cars washed.”
Jonny is off to Uganda in July with a group of young people from Holy Trinity Bradley Stoke, and Christ The King, working in a street children's project called Tigers Club and a youth group in Mbarara.
