We love Bromley Heath Park

DOZENS of people attended the We Love Bromley Heath Park meeting in October to find out more about protecting their park.
Under cost-cutting proposals, the football pitches, tennis courts and pavilion will no longer be maintained by South Gloucestershire Council from April next year.
The council is seeking a third party to take on the management and maintenance of the site.
The Friends group, in common with the Friends group for King George v and Badminton Road playing fields, hopes to persuade Downend & Bromley Heath Parish Council to assume responsbility. This would need to be funded by a small increase in the parish precept.
The football pitches are currently used by:
Downend Saints U13 A Boys
Downend Saints U10
Downend Saints U8
Downend Saints U7
If no agreement is reached, the pitches would no longer be marked, the goalposts removed, and the pavilion and tennis courts locked and closed.
The council and the Friends are keen to ensure that the facilities remain available to the public.
You can make your views known on the consultation page of the South Gloucestershire Council website until December 14.
