Women's talents? Say it with flowers

FAMOUS ladies throughout history have been depicted in floral displays at a church in Hanham.
Members of Hanham Methodist Church's flower committee spent many painstaking hours creating the 'Ladies' Day' displays, which were shown to members of the public during the church's annual flower festival in May.
Among the women shown were Princess Diana, Florence Nightingale, Shirley Bassey, Ellen MacArthur and Amy Johnson.
There were also references to women from the bible, with Mary and Martha, Ruth and Miriam all featuring in floral displays.
Windows all around the church were adorned with mini displays and artefacts showing such women as Malala Yousafzai, Hannah More, Mary Berry and Vera Lynn and were created by the church's flower workshop.
Angela Sagar, flower committee secretary, said: "It was very successful. After a quiet start, it got busier and busier then on the Sunday we had more visitors than we've ever had before.
"The most popular display was probably the ballerina Darcey Bussell because it was very different but simple at the same time."
