April 2020: News from Downend & Bromley Heath Parish Council
During these unprecedented times, we would like to encourage people to take some exercise once a day in the fresh air. Sadly the play areas, tennis courts and skate-park have all had to be closed for the time being on government instructions, but these will be re-opened as soon as permitted.
Recycling and black bin collections will continue to be fortnightly on the usual day for collection, but green bin waste has been suspended for the time being.
A big THANK YOU to all the volunteers who are helping those who are unable to go out at present, and providing a lifeline to those in need.
Please be on the look-out for scams, both on-line and on the doorstep as these people like to strike when there is plenty of activity.
NEWLY CARVED BENCHES AT KING GEORGE V PLAYING FIELDS
The oak tree that fell in recent storms has seen a new lease of life, having now been carved into seating at the playing fields. It is hoped that two further logs will be carved in the very near future. Such wonderful creations from this unfortunate loss.
