Staff and pupils dressed in a variety of elaborate and cleverly designed costumes to raise money for the Roald Dahl Foundation, which helps make life better for children who are very sick.
Everyone selected a character from one of the popular children’s author’s books, including The Magic Finger, Fantastic Mr Fox, Esio Trot, Danny the Champion of the World, The Twits, James and the Giant Peach and of course, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. This last one was especially
significant because of the national celebrations of the book’s 50th anniversary. Pupils in Years 3 and 4 are studying it through literacy and topic lessons.
A grand parade in the playground, along with a variety of themed lessons meant that everyone enjoyed the day, and £178.93 was raised.
