A RODWAY councillor reached for his shovel to help clear mounds of debris following a fire in Station Road.
Resident Emma Marshall got in touch with Cllr John Sullivan when a blaze left an area of land near her home looking unsightly.
Mrs Marshall said:”I approached John for help clearing the remains of a fire near my home. He acted quickly and both I and my family are very grateful for the time he spent improving the site. He was a huge help.”
Cllr Sullivan said: “The site next to Mrs Marshall’s home was a real mess and I’m glad that together  we have been able to clear it and help restore the local area.
“I’m passionate about being involved in local community matters and would encourage other local Rodway residents to get in touch if they need help.”
