Drugs in crisp packet
POLICE seized a “large amount” of cash and suspected drugs during a search in Mangotsfield.
One man was arrested as police arrived with a search warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at Springfield Road on the evening of October 25.
The cash was found at the house, while the suspected drugs were found hidden in a crisp bag.
An Avon and Somerset police spokesman said: “Acting on intelligence, the Staple Hill neighbourhood policing team, supported by the operational support team, carried out a search of the property and seized a large amount of cash.
“When a vehicle connected with the property was also searched, officers discovered a white compressed powder concealed in a crisp bag. This will be forensically examined.”
The spokesman said the suspect had been arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug with intent to supply and acquiring, using or possessing criminal property. He has been released under investigation while enquiries into the incident continue.
Anyone with information about drug offences or other criminal activity in the area should call 101 and ask to speak to the Staple Hill neighbourhood policing team.
