Every (snow) cloud has a silver lining

THIS year's Christ Church Downend Fellowship annual weekend away in Sidmouth was one of the most successful in years, despite snow forcing an initial cancellation.

It wasn’t exactly going to plan when heavy snow fell and Sidmouth was cut off. Disappointed at having to cancel the holiday just hours before setting off, the committee was able to re-book the trip for the following weekend.

Chairman Dave Tooby said: "The time in Sidmouth was spent in entertainment, fun and fellowship and a trip to Killerton Gardens. A good time was had by all!"

The Fellowship meets in the Parish Hall, North Street, Downend, on the second Tuesday of the month at 7.45pm.

The next meeting is on Tuesday April 10 with a talk entitled The Queen’s Bodyguard of the Yeoman of the Guard. All are welcome.
