A YOUNG woman from who runs pre-school dance classes has scooped an award for her growing number of recruits.

Emily Norman runs diddi dance Bristol, part of a national franchise which offers funky dance classes for boys and girls.

During a conference for more than 40 franchisees in the UK, Emily was honoured in the category for the biggest growth.

Emily, from Lyde Green, who is one of the youngest franchisees at 25, said: "I am so happy to win this award, it is an honour for your work to be recognised by your head office. I have worked really hard  to build my business and will continue next year."

Diddi dance classes are designed to build confidence, co-ordination, rhythm, fitness, gross motor skills and social skills in tots from the age of 16 months up to five years. The sessions cover a variety of styles, from hip hop to country through to salsa and rock and roll.

Emily started as a teacher for diddi dance Bristol and when the chance came up to take over the franchise she took it. Since then she has gone from running a few classes to 20 all over Bristol including sessions in Emersons Green, Bromley Heath and Yate.

Emily said: "I stumbled across diddi dance by chance.I started off with no business knowledge so it's been hard a new learning experience but I love working with pre-school children. No matter how hard it's been, working with children makes up for it."

Emily has also won an EWIF (Encouraging Women Into Franchising) award in the Young Woman in Franchising of the Year category in May 2017. She has also recently achieved her gold accreditation with the Children's Activity Association.
