THIRTEEN is not such an unlucky number for Mangotsfield United goalkeeper Kevin Sawyer.

He kept 13 clean sheets in 39 appearances after arriving at Cossham Street in October and helped the club to finish the season in 13th place in the league.

Sawyer, an ever present in the side since he signed from Leamington, picked up five man of the match awards and one player of the month award in the process.

He was named player of the year by the supporters’ club and was also voted players’ player of the year.

The manager’s player of the season award went to Neil Arndale while Ken Brodie was voted clubman of the year in appreciation of his efforts over the season.

During the presentation night 16-year-old striker Liam Monelle received the youth team player of the season award and was named MUSC player of the month for April.

The youth team players’ player of the season award went to Liam Monelle and Grant Ogborne won the youth team manager’s player of the season.
