PRE-SEASON friendlies got underway with Bristol Rovers visiting Cossham Street on Friday July 8 and a good night was had by all. Mangotsfield United took the lead after just two minutes, but Bristol Rovers won 5-3.

Our second friendly was away to Roman Glass and sadly, new signing George Lloyd sustained a broken leg during the match. He has since had an operation .

At the time of writing we have played four friendlies and the only loss is to Bristol Rovers. The combined scores in the four games is scored 17, conceded 11 which reflects the attacking style manager Dave Mehew has adopted so far. We have played a number of trialists during these games.

Our fixtures for the coming season are out and we start as follows: Sat 6 Aug – home to Bideford, Tue 9 Aug – away to Hereford, Sat 13 Aug – away to Winchester and coach bookings being taken, Tue 16 Aug – home to North Leigh, Sat 20 Aug – away to either Farley or AFC Portchester in the FA Cup and coach bookings being taken, Sat 27 Aug – away to Salisbury and coach bookings being taken,  Mon 29 Aug (Bank Holiday) – home to local rivals Yate Town
