PUPILS at Barley Close Primary School in Mangotsfield have been learning about Remembrance while joining in the latest craze.

They have been painting poppies on pebbles and then hiding them for others to find.

The Bristol Rocks Facebook page encourages people to post photos of any painted rocks or pebbles they find and then hide them again to bring pleasure to others.

Staff at Barley Close thought it would be a great way of honing pupils' artistic skills while learning about the significance of the symbol of the poppy at this time of year.

The pebbles in the photo were painted by pupils in Year 2 Lion and Tiger classes.

Children also designed poppies for a display in Roy Preddy Funeral Directors in Mangotsfield, with the two winning entries visiting the business - see photo on the page opposite.
