THE Rainbow Rockers from Barley Close Primary School went down a storm at the Stages dance showcase at the Colston Hall in Bristol.
The troupe of Year One children performed a dance with a rock and roll theme and lived up to their name in brightly coloured costumes.
Staff said the experience at the event, in which participants ranged from reception pupils to sixth formers, was one that the children would never forget.
Teacher Miss Beak said: “ The children were very excited to put on their costumes, which had been kindly made by Miss Withers. The boys had a waistcoat, bow tie or tie and the girls had a 50s style rock and roll skirt. We then were able to go and watch the other schools and dancers taking part. The children loved seeing what other schools had been practising but the excitement really kicked in when it was our turn.
“The children’s performance was amazing. Lots of smiling faces from proud teachers and parents and of course the children themselves. The atmosphere at Stages was great – the children just wanted to do it again! They made all their teachers very proud.”
